Associate Attorney

Ámbar Z. Reyes Pérez is an Illinois-based attorney committed to helping individuals access the legal remedies and protections they need. She joined Atlas Law Center in 2026, bringing a background in international human rights advocacy and bankruptcy law to her work in consumer protection and employment matters.

Experience & Approach

Ámbar earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law in May 2024, where she pursued a concentration in International Human Rights Law. Her interest in human rights law reflects her commitment to protecting, promoting, and safeguarding the rights of individuals.

As a student in the International Human Rights Clinic, Ámbar worked on matters involving international human rights and environmental law and collaborated on legal projects involving the United Nations. She contributed to a Summary of Shadow Reports submitted to the Human Rights Committee in preparation for the United States’ Fifth Review under the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR). Her work also took her to Geneva, Switzerland, where she supported efforts involving the Human Rights Committee, stakeholders, U.S. civil society organizations, and individuals directly impacted by human rights issues. These experiences strengthened her passion for advocacy and her commitment to serving others through the legal profession.

Following law school and her admission to the Illinois Bar in May 2025, Ámbar spent a year helping individuals navigate bankruptcy during some of the most difficult financial periods of their lives. She assisted clients seeking relief from lawsuits, wage garnishments, and tax levies, as well as individuals working to protect their vehicles from auction and their homes from foreclosure.

Ámbar now brings this experience to her work in consumer protection and employment law, where she is focused on helping individuals understand their rights and pursue the legal remedies available to them.
