Sophia Steere
Sophia Steere joined Atlas Law Center in August 2023 as an Associate Attorney. Since joining Atlas Law Center, Sophia has continued to grow as an employment law advocate and has taken on increasing responsibilities within the firm. In 2025, she was promoted to Senior Attorney in recognition of her dedication, legal knowledge, and contributions to the firm and its clients. Today, Sophia serves as one of Atlas Law Center’s Senior Employment Attorneys and leads a litigation team, where she helps guide the employment litigation team and represents employees in a wide range of matters involving workplace rights.
Sophia brings a strong commitment to employment law and a personal understanding of the challenges many workers face. Having entered the workforce at age 15 and worked multiple jobs to fund her own education, she understands the importance of having an advocate who will listen, understand, and fight for her clients’ rights.
Experience & Approach
Sophia’s legal experience has been focused exclusively on employment law. Since joining Atlas Law Center, she has developed extensive experience representing employees and advocating for their rights in employment-related matters.
Sophia was promoted to Senior Attorney in 2025 and currently serves as one of the firm’s Employment Litigation Team Leaders. In this role, she helps guide the employment litigation team, supports attorneys in developing case strategies, and contributes to the management and advancement of employment litigation matters.
Sophia is bilingual (English and Spanish) and is admitted to practice before the state courts in Illinois and Kentucky, and federal courts in Illinois, Kentucky, Indiana, and Missouri. She is also admitted to the Northern District of Illinois Trial Bar, allowing her to represent clients in federal litigation matters requiring trial advocacy.
During law school, Sophia served as the 3L Representative for the Student Bar Association, Social Chair for the Latinx Law Student Association, and Program Coordinator for the Jefferson County Teen Court Student Program. These leadership and service experiences strengthened her commitment to advocacy, community involvement, and helping others navigate challenging circumstances.
Sophia has also contributed to the legal community through her publication, “A Year of The Ending Forced Arbitration of Sexual Assault and Sexual Harassment Act of 2021: What You Need to Know for Your Clients,” published in the Louisville Bar Association’s Bar Briefs, Volume 23, No. 06, in June 2023.
Sophia approaches her practice with dedication, empathy, and a strong understanding of the importance of employment law. She is committed to helping employees understand their rights and providing thoughtful and effective representation throughout the litigation process.
Why I Practice Law
Sophia chose to practice law because she wanted to help others, make a difference in a field that truly matters, and serve people with whom she can personally relate.
Having entered the workforce at the age of 15 and worked multiple jobs to fund her own education, Sophia understands firsthand the challenges and responsibilities that working individuals face. Those experiences shaped her desire to advocate for employees and help ensure that workers have someone on their corner when they face difficult or unfair circumstances in the workplace.
For Sophia, employment law provides an opportunity to combine her personal experiences with her legal skills to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the people she represents.
